You are incredible. | May 2020 Love Note
It's May, the month when we celebrate mamas for all that they've done from carrying and birthing to rearing and raising, for the love, the prayer, the sacrifice, and the consistent selflessness. I salute you.
Now more than ever, moms are tapping into our super powers. Some moms are wearing an extra hat of home school teacher or daycare provider while working from home full time simultaneously, some are calming scared kids but secretly feeling anxious themselves, others might be grieving the loss of their own mom or grandmother this year, or navigating through a season of pregnancy, miscarriage or infertility during a time when our healthcare system is already so overwhelmed. To all these mamas and more, I see you. Mother, daughter, grandmother, mom-to-be, future mom, mom of an angel -- you are strong, and capable, and enough. You are incredible.
I hope that you take some time to shower yourself not only with these words of affirmation, but with all of the love languages because you deserve, sis. The love languages that I appreciate the most are quality time and acts of service, so I am especially looking forward to spending some quality time in my bed while I enjoy my first ever breakfast-in-bed this Mother's Day.
What does my perfect Mother's Day breakfast-in-bed include, you ask? Well, it starts with a heaping scoop of soft scrambled eggs, accompanied with chicken maple sausage, spicy home fries, a warm butter croissant (or maybe fluffy buttermilk pancakes! or both maybe both?), and a bowl of mixed berries (because, balance). Oh and a creamy oat milk latte. Yes, I'm eating alladat. This month, I'm sharing my perfect soft scrambled egg recipe (inspired by one of my faves, the Barefoot Contessa herself, Ina Garten). These eggs come out perfectly every time! I promise they will be the star of the show.
Have a lovely May, friends! And happy Mother's Day to all!
Love,
Maaden
