Spring is in the air. | March 2020 Love Note

Well not quite, but soon come. As I write this, it's still very much February. It was in the 30s today, I feel the beginnings of a tickle in my throat, and my Uggs are still by the entryway door. Be that as it may, I know that the spring is around the corner and the mere thought of longer days, wet dewy grass in the morning, fresh air and open windows has me feeling all sorts of good on the inside.

Regardless of what the weather man or the groundhog have to say, March marks the beginning of a new season. One that makes me think of a few things. First and foremost, birthdays. I, along with everyone in my household, my dad, more than a handful of my extended family members, and a bunch of my friends including Love, Maaden podcast co-host Tennille (and her mom!) have spring birthdays. So y'all know I'm ready to break out the bubbles and the cupcakes, and celebrate with my people, because nothing says gather together like a good ole' birthday party!

Besides birthday celebrations, March also incites thoughts of all the "spring things" -- spring cleaning, springing forward, and spring break. Three concepts that take on totally new definitions in adulthood. This month on the podcast I'm doing a spring series and delving into each of these topics from:

  • how to keep a tidy house and a tidy mind, to

  • what procrastination and perfectionism mean for our 2020 goals, and

  • whether finding balance and breathing room are even possible in this season of life.

If you haven't already joined the conversation, I invite you to subscribe, share the show with your good friends, and discuss it at your gathering this month!

My March recipe is a super simple crowd pleaser. It gives al fresco bistro lunch vibes, and you can make it in less than 20 minutes for under $20. I plan to enjoy it with friends on our porch with some sparkling limeade, while we dig into this month's table talk topics. Drop me a line if you plan to do the same!

Love, Maaden
